Post-Lesson Feedback Form
Written by Daphne Lim - Updated
The post-lesson feedback form is a simple but effective way to keep parents in the loop and track your student’s progress over time. Plus, you’ll be able to look at a summary of previous lessons with each of your students to help you track what to do next 📈
It only takes five minutes to fill out, should be submitted after every lesson, and has a minimum character count of just 200!
You’ll find the form linked here, or under each student profile on your KIS-App.
What is in the Form?
The form has two short sections:
-
Lesson Summary (dotpoints):
A few dotpoints outlining what you covered in the session. Keep it simple (no pun intended!) — just enough to give context for what was worked on.
-
Homework Plan:
Outline what you’ve assigned for the week ahead. Include any key focus areas or skills being targeted. This helps the student, parent, and you stay on the same page.
What if I don't give weekly homework?
That’s fine!
- Use this space to note that no homework was assigned and (briefly) why. For example: “No homework this week as the assessment is tomorrow, and then we’re moving on to a new topic.”
- Use this space to outline recommended exercises the student can complete if they’d like an extension!
What if I explain the homework during class?
Even better—but the form still helps. A written outline ensures that students and parents can refer back to it later, especially if they forget what was said.
What if I already have a feedback system? Do I have to use the KIS one?
That’s great that you've been proactively seeking feedback!
You are more than welcome to keep using your own system if you wish, but you need to use the KIS feedback forms too. Our post-lesson feedback form only has two questions - so filling it out won’t be time-consuming. If you are still using your own system, simply copy and paste the lesson summary / homework dotpoints into the KIS form. There’s a few reasons why it’s so important to use our system:
- Consistency for customers - for parents who have multiple KIS tutors, it’s easier for them to have a uniform system to see lesson progress and track homework. This way, they can see all their lessons with all their tutors in one place, on their KIS portal.
- Protection for you - the KIS form creates an official company record of your work at KIS. In the (rare!) event that someone complains about the content of your lessons, we have ongoing, recorded proof of your actions and can back you up.
- Advertising intelligence - seeing how you run your lessons & integrate with outside-class hours gives us better insights into how our tutors operate. We will be using this detailed data to better market your teaching styles to potential parents - and show them why KIS tutors are better.
How do I get the Most of out of the Form?
To make your feedback even more helpful, use the homework section to explain why the task is important. A quick sentence like, “This task targets the student’s difficulty with multiplying fractions, which we noticed today,” helps parents understand the purpose behind the work.
Likewise, use your dotpoints to show patterns or progress. For example:

Even a few points like these make it easy for parents to see that your lessons are targeted and productive.
This post-lesson feedback form greatly increases the value ad of your tutoring - giving a more comprehensive service to your parents and students. Plus, you’ll be making sure that your tutoring sticks - helping them review content between lessons.
As always, if you have any other questions, feel free to shoot a message into #help channel on Slack, or email contact@kisacademics.com.
