I need to find a temporary replacement tutor!
Written by Daphne Lim - Updated
If you're going on holiday/ placement/ school trip and will be unavailable to tutor for a few weeks, please follow these steps:
- Contact your student at least 1-month in advance to make them aware of what's happening. You MUST contact your student to apologise and let them know you're unable to tutor them for X many weeks, but that KIS will suggest an alternative temporary tutor for them.
- Send this message into your state Slack channel:
Hey @channel, I'm looking for a temp replacement for my pairing with (Students Name).
They are looking for a (Subject) tutor that is (in-person or online).
(List location if it's in-person) - If you don't hear back from anyone within 24 hours, please email contact@kisacademics.com with the same message.
- Turn your availability OFF immediately (you don't want any new students when you're going to be overseas soon)
It's really important to have good communication with your student at all times of this process. You DO NOT want to inconvenience them more than what is necessary, so don't leave this to the last minute.
