Some students/parents may not want to do the free 30 minute consultation session, or perhaps they just want to have it at a much later date. Here is what you have to do in these scenarios:

🙅‍♀️ My client is absolutely ADAMANT they don’t want a study skills consultation

Study skills consultations are mandatory for all tutors. But in some cases, clients can be absolutely adamant that they don't want one.

If this is the case, as an ABSOLUTE LAST RESORT… you must get this in writing. Ask the client to text/email you asking to skip the free study skills consult. Send the client a message along the lines of:

Just so I have it on the record and can send to KIS if need be, are you sure you’d like to skip the 30 minute study skills consultation and begin with paid lessons straight away? I just need a yes or no answer 😊

We need this written confirmation because customers who say this often come to our customer support team saying "but I thought the first half an hour was free". So to save everyone the hassle, make sure to get a refusal to the study skills consultation in writing!

My Customer does NOT want a Consultation Session Now

    1. Let the student know that while you're happy to keep a spot for them. A message like the following should suffice:
No stress if you want to start a bit later! I just need to know an
approximate date for when you'd like to start. This is so I can add
it to my calendar for KIS and save you a slot. How does
      [INSERT_SUGGESTED_DATE] sound?

This date can be anytime in the future, though ideally, have it close to the approximate time the student would like to do their trial lesson or commence their formal lessons.

ie. if a student would like to start lessons after the summer holidays, suggest a date at the start of Term 1 in February

    2. Then, once you have decided on a future date for your study skills consultation/first lesson with the student, add this date to the KIS App! This is important, because if you don't add a placeholder date, our admin team will be sending you chase-ups about the student throughout your break, which can get annoying, we know. So please, add this date to KIS App.
