Do I need to Chase up Late Payments or Payments that Fail?

Written by Daphne Lim - Updated

You do not need to follow up late payments or failed payments, and please DO NOT send the student another invoice.

KIS will always chase up late payments because 99.9% of the time, it's just due to parents forgetting to check their emails for an invoice.

Can I chase them for payments myself?

If you want to send payment reminders yourself, you can definitely do that! You can send students a link to the payment page by clicking on a pending payment in the KIS App and copying the link as shown here.

What if the Student never pays?

Thus far, across thousands of lessons, we’ve had less than 0.0003% of students completely default on a payment and in the worst case scenario where that does happen, you have up to 2x payments with a student that are guaranteed by KIS.

What if I've done 2x lessons that have gone unpaid?

If you've done 2x lessons with the student that have gone unpaid and aren't sure about what to do:

  1.  Hold off on a 3rd lesson
  2. Send a message into #help for advice

In some cases, we may recommend you message the student and request that they complete the payments before doing any more lessons. Here's a template message you can use:

Hi there!

Just letting you know that the last 2 lessons we've done haven't been paid yet, and according to KIS Academics policy, unfortunately I won't be able to do our next lesson until the outstanding invoices have been paid for.
If you need any help with payments, you can reach out to KIS directly here! https://kisacademics.com/w/contact-us

Please let me know when you've paid, and we can organise our next lesson right after that 😁

Thanks!

If you have any other questions, feel free to shoot a message into #help channel on Slack, or send an email to contact@kisacademics.com
