Can I move my group tutoring lesson around?

Written by Daphne Lim - Updated

ย

As a KIS Group Tutor, YOU are in charge of the group lesson. We recommend choosing a specific time, day and location and being strict with it for the first few sessions so students know they have to attend the class.

However, as time passes and you are more familiar with your students, you're welcome to be more flexible. You can:

  • Change the class times for a week if your students agree to it (ensure all students are aware and have agreed to the changed schedule)
  • Change the class times for the rest of a term or year if your students agree to it
  • Cancel or move a class time if the majority of your students can't make it
  • Change from an in-person to an online class or vice-versa if your students agree to it
  • Try out different styles of teaching, do practice exams, write essays, etc. as long as your students agree to it

Make sure that these changes are confirmed in writing via whatever communication platform your group has elected to use so that there are records of these changes. Ultimately, the most important thing to ensure is that your students agree and are aware of any changes.ย In case a student/ students fail to turn up for a changed class, this written record with be important to support your cancellation claim.ย
