When your student is asking too many questions outside of class time

Written by Daphne Lim - Updated

Students will often ask questions outside of class time. A question here and there is okay, however, if your student is asking a lot of questions outside of class and it’s starting to eat up your time (and maybe they clearly just want free help), here’s what you can say:

Hey, thanks for your questions! I've got a pretty busy week and you've asked quite a few things. Do you want to book in an extra lesson this week or just do them during our normal lesson instead?

If the parents are asking you for feedback on their child, you are expected to make time to give them that feedback. You should not be charging the parent for this short feedback session. This can be in the form of:

  • text or email
  • a short call (15 minutes)
  • a short zoom call (15 minutes)
  • stay back for an extra 15 minutes after your in-person lesson time

If you have more questions, feel free to shoot them into #help channel on Slack, or send an email to contact@kisacademics.com
