Expectations of Tutors

Written by Daphne Lim - Updated

We hold our tutors up to very high standards because we only hired you after a rigorous recruitment process. Here are some basic expectations:

Expectations

  1. If you need to cancel a lesson, it MUST be done at least 24 hours before the scheduled class time
  2. You're expected to attend lessons ON TIME. On the off chance you're running late, you must get in touch with the customer and let them know out of courtesy. Even if you're late, you're expected to complete the set duration of teaching, or alternatively reduce your charge. (ie. no rocking up 15 minutes late and doing a 45 minute lesson, then charging for the whole hour)
  3. If you're marked as available in the KIS App, the expectation is that you're available to take new customers on (that's what available means). We expect you to always keep your availability up to date on the KIS App.

If you're matched with a customer while marked as available, we expect you to accept the pairing and get in touch with them as soon as possible.

If, for some reason, you are unable to take on a pairing that has been assigned to you, you must get in touch with the KIS Admin team immediately and the customer will be paired with an alternative tutor. However, we expect you to avoid this scenario from occurring by keeping your availability up to date.
  4. When you get a new request, you're expected to contact them within 24 hours.
  5. You are expected to be respond promptly and be friendly in all communications with your customers.

We take complaints from customers very seriously, and if we hear about tutors failing to meet these expectations, we will take action. Repeat offenders will receive a warning, and if necessary, your position with KIS will be terminated.

Code of Ethics

This is super important, and we expect all tutors to read and comply with these rules: KIS Academics Code of Ethics

Tutor Handbook

For further information, please read the tutor handbook clearly: The KIS Academics Tutor Handbook
