If you're in VIC, and your 18th birthday is coming up within the next 3 weeks, then we would advise you to hold off the onboarding process until you have officially turned 18.
If you are more than a month away from turning 18, and would like to begin work immediately - that’s more than fine as well! But here are the things you should watch out for:
Your Working With Children Check / Blue Card (WWCC)
- For all other states other than VIC, you still require a WWCC for paid work. So please apply for it.
- If you are in VIC, as soon as you turn 18, you will need to apply for an ‘Employee’ level Working with Children Check.
- When submitting your onboarding form to become a KIS tutor, please attach the declaration and enter "N/A - Currently under 18" to the questions below. More information is provided in each respective step of the onboarding form.
- Once you turn 18 and have received your WWCC details, please send edit your profile via the KIS App and submit your new WWCC details. Please check this page for more information: Working with Children Check
Your KIS App
- KIS Academics uses an incredibly secure payment transfer platform called Stripe. It requires that you be 18+ to create an account. What this means for you is that you will need to ask your parent and get their permission to use their bank account details to register if you are under 18 years of age.
- Here are the instructions for signing up to the KIS App if you are below 18 years old
- After you turn 18, you can update your KIS App to use your own details rather than your parents'.
