What Documents can I use to verify my Stripe account?

Written by Daphne Lim - Updated

The most important thing to remember while signing up for the KIS App and Stripe is that you are filling in YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION. Because after signing up for the KIS App, Stripe will ask you to verify your documents, and that is where you need to produce your OWN documents to verify YOUR OWN personal information.

What Documents are Required or Accepted?

Australian Business Number Confirmation: you can get this document from https://abr.business.gov.au/

Document guidelines (according to Stripe)

  • Document information must match the Stripe account including company name, address, or individuals’ names
  • Not a copy of a copy, photos of a photo, or photo pasted into a document
  • Include all pages in the document
  • Signatures are clearly visible (when required)
  • Address or legal entity documents are in JPG, PNG, or PDF format
  • Identity documents are in JPG or PNG format
  • Identity documents are in colour
  • Identity documents include both sides

Accepted document types (according to Stripe)

  • Certificate of Registration (Australian Business Number Confirmation): this can be found at this link https://abr.business.gov.au/
  • Certificate of Registration (Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) Record of Registration)
  • Commercial Register Extract (Australian Business Register Extract)
  • Certificate of Registration of Change of Name
  • Charity or Non-Profit Extract (Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission Extract)
